Who We Are

The Culinary Professionals Greece is a professional, non-profit association, established in 1994 in Thessaloniki as the Chefs Association of Northern Greece. Association members are professional chefs, pastry chefs and food experts that fulfill the required standards, as declared in the Articles of Association, and participate voluntarily in all the association's activities.

The basic aims of the Association are to unite chefs from all over Greece in a common dedication to professional excellence, cooperation with other European and international culinary associations by exchanging knowledge and new techniques, providing educational support, promoting the gastronomy tradition and providing humanitarian aid to those in need. Culinary Professionals Greece is an official member of Worldchefs.

Culinary Professionals Greece has represented Greece in many International Gastronomic Festivals, Congresses and Exhibitions, while it has organized important culinary events and world gastronomic competitions. At the IKA/Culinary Olympics 2020 in Stuttgart of Germany, Chefs Association of Northern Greece was represented by Culinary Team Greece and won the bronze medal in the category “Community Catering”. The International Culinary Competition of Southern Europe organized every two years, from 1997 until present, and supported by the Worldchefs, constitutes a hallmark tradition of Culinary Professionals Greece. The competition is established as a meeting point for the culinary professionals, attracting more than 500 delegates from all over the world.

The Chefs Association of Northern Greece in cooperation with Worldchefs, was the co-organizer of the World Chefs Congress & Expo 2016, which was held in Thessaloniki from 24th to 27th of September 2016. The World Chefs Congress & Expo is one of the most important culinary events worldwide, organized every two years by the Worldchefs. For the first time, the Congress was hosted in a Mediterranean country, offering dynamic exposure for Thessaloniki, Greece and Mediterranean gastronomy.
